Things never turn out quite how you expect do they. The one thing that turned out exactly how I imagined was how good it was to be back dancing, and how much fun it was to see people again.
Most of the things that were unexpected were positives - with the bar being available (thank you Gilly, you looked after us all brilliantly) we could use the main Club door - a much better arrangement than the one I imagined (so don't bring drinks to the sessions please, the Club prices are very reasonable and we need to justify Gilly's presence). The other main surprise was the folk who turned up, and those who didn't (though I know you will be with us soon). It was really lovely to have some old friends back with us, as well as to welcome a new dancer to the class. It was also pleasing to realise how well the upper area of the UKCA 'works' for the class, it will take a few weeks to get the best layout, but for a first session after almost 2 years it felt good. Finally, I know some people are still uncertain whether it's legal for us to be dancing at all, or what the exact criteria is to attend, so we are seeking further clarification on that, in the meantime the UKCA are happy we are within the rules, so unless we learn to the contrary I'm already looking forward to seeing you next week :-)
(Current rules as we understand them - Covid passes if you are fully vaccinated, -ve test if you aren't - see the clarification link in the previous post. Obviously, please don't come if you've any symptoms, or have been in recent close contact with a sufferer even if you've had a -ve test )
