Happy Christmas to everyone, have a great time over the next few days. This is really just to let you know that the St Andrew's ball pictures (except for the portraits which will be send individually) are now on the site - click HERE for the link or reach them via the Past Events page (under Events)

I have just read my previous blether - I can't believe so much time has passed since I wrote, so hopefully, of catching up the moment I arrived back in Cyprus. It's been full on since we got back from Scotland, not just with dancing stuff of course - a lot has happened, both good and bad. "Get well soon" applies to many, conversely "congratulations" have to be sent to others and I've not had time even to 'blether' before now.
We've now finished for our Christmas break with a great night's dancing last week and the Finale of the year, our Christmas Ceilidh this week. Since it was a new venue for the Ceilidh we weren't quite sure how best to arrange things but it seemed to work out reasonably well. Like last year there was a fantastic selection of food and we were delighted to welcome visitors from 'T'North' who gamely allowed themselves to be dragged onto the floor for a few of the dances. The dances were all enjoyed, the recitations well received and the final rendition of 12 Days in Cyprus kept going right to the end - especially with the amazing spontaneous accompaniment from Doug. I was very kindly presented with a lovely thank-you from the Society too - it not only looks lovely but smells super too. Thanks to Doris for her kind words and Irene for taking my picture amongst everything else. We restart in the new year on Tuesday January 9th (though my first Sunday and Monday classes will precede this - I'll be in touch with those people I know are interested in these, otherwise, check out the information under 'Dance Classes' above) - our next big social event is, of course, Burns' Night at the Elea Golf Club - very generously sponsored by Blevins Franks and Campbell's Shortbread - details of that are on the Future Events page. I must now get on with editing the portraits taken at the Ball. All the pictures from the ball and the Ceilidh will soon be available via links from the Past Events page. If anyone has pictures they want to add to mine please send them, I'll be glad to get them. Finally, I wish everyone a very, very Happy Christmas and a wonderful year to come and thank you for all your support. Janine x |
