I am a bit confused – but there’s nothing unusual in that, I seem to have had a blether free week and I don’t know how it happened, but never mind. The day after a party always seems flat and this one is no exception, we had a great get together, cut the cake and enjoyed kiddy level dancing with some real kiddies! (and very good they were too – definitely dancers in the making). The boat trip was won, the sporran was attached, the prizes given out and everyone staggered home clutching their beer and goody bags. It wasn’t without incident but the lessons learnt will be put into use to improve future events and now there is Tuesday to look forward to again. I am introducing a few more dances from my exam list... but they shouldn’t be too arduous, unlike the White Rabbit 2, which after doing White Rabbit 1 at the party seemed to be asking to be reintroduced – see you soon it’s going to be fun!

I’m updating this rather later than usual but it’s been a busy week. Preparations for the 21st Party, of which I’ve done quite a bit already and still have quite a lot to do, (I’m not the only one of course.. there’s lots going on behind the scenes and even on the day volunteers to help decorate can meet us there at 10a.m.) organizing the Sunday class and liaising with the UKCA who are letting me start a class there; Teaching how to update a website run on Weebly (not this one!) attending an AGM and, now the sun is shining just a bit more, all the inevitable garden jobs that can’t wait have all put me behind my normal schedule, but we did get two really good dance sessions last week – the Tuesday class was a hoot, well done to all the visitors who just plunged in and did it, to have 2 weeks with youngsters in the class was great, and a real tribute to the whole class because if it wasn’t such a friendly fun experience members wouldn’t feel comfortable bringing their friends and family. Sunday class was low in numbers but we got through some really great dances – some of which I will hopefully introduce on Tuesdays. See you there.. :-)
I have decided on a new blethering technique, I am going to blether first on a word document, then copy and paste it into the website – that way when most of it disappears I can just update from the saved copy... clever eh! It’s only taken me 6 months to think of it. It is annoying when my immortal prose disappears, but in the end it is a very small issue compared with all the excellent things about this site builder.
As I write this I am very thankful for our central heating and our cats who are doing their best to keep us warm on a very chilly evening, it’s difficult to remember that this week was the first time we walked into the LPH to set up for class and found it was warm enough to finally believe spring is here. It was a great night’s dancing with everyone doing their best to make visitors welcome and some very brave attempts at a very complicated dance – of course the set that got through it successfully should rightfully be pleased with themselves but the set that struggled should be equally pleased because they were aiming high, trying to learn something in 10 minutes that usually is taught over hours and they still had fun... and there’s always next week, I hope everyone will be brave enough to try again! |
