Last night was the final Tuesday class of this season and we were treated to a 'free night' by the committee complete with wine and nibbles (and most importantly Irene's Tablet!), knowing that we might be slightly mentally challenged, before the break by heat and after the break by wine, I limited the dance program accordingly - except for the Black Mountain Reel - which despite being a seriously fast dance I felt might benefit from the effect; well done to everyone who spun their way through it - and also to all the newcomers who took up the Duke of Perth challenge at the end to finish truly on a high. The numbers for a 'final night' were yet again an 'in my time' max with enough dancers yet again for 3 sets - it was an excellent end to a super spring season; an added bonus is that now several people are interested in continuing their dancing at the 'Monday afternoon' class for as long as that keeps going - although mainly advertised as a very basic class having more experienced dancers joining in gives everyone a boost and I am looking forward to introducing our 'Monday dancers' to ever more interesting dances.
On another topic...those of you who haven't found them yet can find pictures I took at the June Jamboree under the link on the 'Past Events' page - I hope you enjoy them as excellent memories of a thoroughly enjoyable night - be warned that it isn't always possible to make dancing pictures flattering but remember that we are all only really bothered about ourselves and everyone else is used to what we look like :-) As far as the June Jamboree is concerned- we've had excellent feedback overall, be assured that the few areas of disappointment will, as usual be learned from and if possible addressed - it's why we keep on getting better! See you in September if not before... have a great summer
