Our St Andrew's BallThis was the 11th year we held the Ball at the Kamares Club in Tala and the fourth year we thanked Angel Guardians for very generous sponsorship towards the event.
The format has changed over the years as we learnt how to take best advantage of this excellent venue. The food has always been superb but the atmosphere and level of enjoyment for both dancers and non-dancers gets better and better every year. In 2018 the date of the Ball was brought forward to the beginning of the month; it was so successful that we did it again this year; not only does it allow more members of the dance classes to attend (before many head home for Christmas) but the earlier date gives us the opportunity to entice some excellent musicians to our shores. This year we were lucky enough to have Ian Robertson playing for us - Ian is based in England but plays for dance events all over the world - The Netherlands, Ireland, Poland and Switzerland were recent locations. This was Ian's second visit to Cyprus since he was one of the musicians at the International Branch's dance weekend here in 2017. It was greatly appreciated that he flew over for just a few days to play at our ball. |
