Please be aware that although the dances on the ball program are well known to most RSCDS Scottish Country Dancers they are not ceilidh dances nor can they be learnt on the night. Everyone is welcome to join us at the Ball, it is a friendly and entertaining night with good food and a great atmosphere, however if you wish to dance, rather than just watch, you will need to learn the dances beforehand.
All the dances are being taught at the Monday and Tuesday St Andrew Group dance classes. Everyone is welcome to attend, even if they don't consider themselves particularly fit or good dancers. The dance programme includes many easier dances, but most people find it takes several weeks to be able to do them confidently on the night - even if they have danced in the past. It is therefore advised to attend as many classes as possible. The classes are a fun way to get fit and very accommodating to beginners so it's worth giving them a try - and even if you aren't sure about dancing at the ball we'd love to see you. |
